Parliament rises until 30 January

Parliament has risen for the year after completing the list of bills brought under urgency, adjourning until 30 January 2024.

After passing bills to bring in 90-day trials and repeal Inland Revenue’s tax principles reports today, the House held its usual adjournment debate where party leaders give speeches marking the end of the Parliamentary year.

National’s Christopher Luxon was not available on Thursday, so Building and Construction Minister Chris Penk made a speech on his behalf.

The House rose about 5pm.
