Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announces $1.9 billion plan to make NZ safer

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has announced a $1.9 billion plan to make New Zealand safer.

Luxon said there would be a “significant investment” in funding for frontline Corrections staffing and services.

Corrections Minister Mark Mitchell said the coalition government would spend $1.9 billion over the next four years on more prison beds, prison officers and rehabilitation for remand inmates.
