ASUS launches new gaming laptops at CES 2023

Taiwanese hardware giant ASUS has released a new range of laptops under its Republic of Gaming (ROG) sub-brand, featuring new processors and graphics chips from Intel, AMD and Nvidia, along with improved cooling and Nebula mini-LED displays.
Launched at the Consumer Electronics Show 2023, The top-of-the range Strix SCAR laptops have had chassis redesigns to accommodate 16 and 18-inch displays with 16:10 ratio; the 16-inch model can be optioned with a QHD 240 Hz Nebula high dynamic range display.
Inside, the Strix SCAR 16 and 18-inch laptops come with the new 13th Gen Intel Core 13980HX processor, which has eight Performance and 16 Efficienty cores.
They can be equipped with NVIDIA’s GeForce 4090 graphics, with 175 Watt power draw.
A Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal cooler is mounted on both the CPU and the GPU in the Strix SCAR devices.
ASUS also updated the top 16-inch model in the Zephyrus range with an Intel 13th Gen Core i9 processor, and improved cooling, as well as the Nebula display with 1024 dimming zones, 1100 nits of brightness, 240 Hz refresh rate and 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour coverage.
Other Zephyrus devices have also been upgraded with new chips from Intel, AMD and NVIDIA, and Nebula displays.
The dual-display Zephyrus Duo 16 which features a 16-inch mini-LED panel and a 4K sliding touch screen sports an AMD Ryzen Zen 4 with 16 cores and NVIDIA GeForce 4090 graphics.
ASUS used the AMD Ryzen Zen 4 processors for the 2023 model of the Flow X13, along with NVIDIA GeForce 4070 graphics, better cooling and a bigger, 75 Watt-hour battery and 165 Hz Nebula display.

Its ROG Flow Z13 and Flow X16 have also been upgraded with the latest chips for 2023, and there’a a brand new XG Mobile laptop in the range, which is designed to be more portable than the other laptops.
New Zealand pricing for the ASUS laptops is to be determined.
