Crash closes State Highway 2 at Petone

A crash has closed State Highway 2’s southbound lanes, leading to delays for those heading towards Wellington.

Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency said the highway was closed between Petone (after the Petone onramp) and Ngauranga.

The crash occurred late on Saturday night, just before 11pm.

Drivers were being asked to exit at the Dowse Drive Interchange.

The road would be closed until further notice, the transport agency just after midnight on Sunday.
