One person dead on Ponsonby Road – reports
There are reports that a person has been killed on Ponsonby Rd in Auckland, and there is a heavy police presence in the area.
An official police callouts database shows two 111 calls were received about 10.20pm, one reporting firearms offending and the other reporting a homicide.
The calls came from near the intersection of Douglas St and Ponsonby Rd, an area with shops and restaurants.
An RNZ reporter has visited the scene and says a police cordon is in place.
