One person was injured in an accident that occurred when a truck collided with the guardrail on State Highway 1 near Taupō.

The incident occurred at 11.45 pm. The freight truck collided with the road’s barrier, causing the truck to be thrown onto a grassy area beyond the barriers. One person sustained minor injuries and was taken to Taupo Hospital last night. The crash happened 5 km south of Taupo airport in Waitahanui. Traffic management is in place, and delays are possible.
